power light is on

MY car is 1991 626 2.2L. Recently, the Power light is on , it goes off if I push the hold button on the shift. But the hold light is on then. I really have no idea what hold means and what Power light means. If I release the hold, the Power ligh comes up again.

IS it a serious problem? I can drive the car without problem, just afraid it get me on road some day.
