I used to own a couple of eclipses but I sold 2 and now I am left with only my 96 Rs. I was tired of of my Gs and GST since too much gas :) and I am over the fact of speed and racing. I want a nice car so I decided to tune up my Rs so atleast I can be happy with my self. So far I did the V2 AEM long Intake, Nology wirez and I got a friend who wants to put a Turbo Engine in it with a Gready turbo. My first question is cause I have done a lot to cars but would it be good to put a used turbo engine with a turbo or just get a turbo kit and turbo my current engine. I DO NOT WANT A LOT OF POWER !!! I just want a quick install on the car and some fair speed. ( its pretty quick as it is) but a little more power is never bad :) Oh yeah and I need your opinions on where can I buy a good RS Spoiler ? I was looking and these but I dont they would look good. If any1 has a link to a good spoiler website please post. Link to my spoilers --http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7960864846&category=36475

Let me get this straight, you sold a GST because you are over the fact of speed and racing and now you want to mod an RS?

you make no sense

(No argument there)

Swaping a turbo engine in is too much work. If you're set on keeping this car, you can turbocharge the 420a motor you already have. Hahn sells a popular kit. On the up-side, insurance is cheap, you could be a sleeper, and it works with a car you already own. On the down side, you won't push many horses, it won't be very reliable, and your resale will still be shitty.

You're better off re-buying your gs-t, and selling the rs. It'll be cheaper and less work. If you do turbo your rs, look at Hahn's website for more (biased) information.

When I had the gst is was too much hassle, every day something broke. The gs I sold to a friend and it was in perfect condition. I believe he stuck a new engine in his, I believe it was a Evo Engine prototype. I wanna stick a new engine in mine cause its my first car and its my favorite one.( good memories ) :) but i wanna tune it up. I dont need no 300 horse power since I have enoguh tickets with the my old eclipse :) Big tickets too !
I have friends they install engines REALLY cheap ! And they r reliable but first i wanna good spoiler since my RS spoiler just didnt look good :) But can u help me with some sites ?? for spoiers ?

I also would like to ask you since I have never come to this. Would you prefer to turbo charge the engine or get gst engine and use it with the turbo it comes with?

I dont agree with the gas mileage aspect of it. I'm doing pretty good during daily driving in my 97 Spyder GST, with the boost down to 9 psi. Ive noticed that when im doing 17 psi on the new turbo and Im slamming it everywhere, the car drinks like a fish...but with the boost under wraps and NA-like driving, its not all that bad. My experience at least.

Ever since me turbo upgrade, it lags more so i dont go into boost really. So i drive around out of boost and my mpg is pretty good.

Have fun with the engine swap. Take some pictures and do a write-up.

The evo engine prototype swap sounds like bs to me. Your first post has me a little worried, too. I don't get the impression you're the kind of character to take on a job like this, whether or not you have a friend who'll do it for you. If you're serious, good luck.

You're better off buying the spoiler used, you'll save money and may be lucky enough to find it in your color. Look on dsmtrader or the classifieds of tuner's, or e-bay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33638&item=7960289639&rd=1 for example.

Yeah, I was reading on tuners that the guys with the best gas mileage are ironically those with the biggest turbos. Daily driving isn't enough to spool the turbo, and gas mileage is closer to that of an n/a. Good times :)

Just another reason to go big.

Edit>> Btw, as I said. If you're not going to sell you car, just turbo what you have. Without the 4g63 swap. Jake has an rs-t on here. Or on jacks, I'm not sure. J/k. In any event, it can be done. Check the performance thread stickies for turbo'ing an na.

They are Russians by the way. And in my opinion are skilled mechanics. And yeah I am serious about this :) They already did a serbian guy I knew ,and his Evo. There are things you can do with cars I never even dreamed of. ( Believe me !!) Europeans do CraZy things with CARS !!!!

Even if they are from ButtF*ck Egypt your car is going to have less gas mileage with a turboed 420a or your old gst.

If you want the least hassle buy a turbo kit, or even easier, buy an unmodded gst/gsx/tsi.

are you for real?

it's ok to say ''i don't know what to do with my car, i have no experience with Eclipses, or DSM's, please help.''

you don't have to drop every bogus problem you have ever heard. you once had 3 Eclipses and have NO FUCKING CLUE about the difficulties of a 420a to 4g63 engine swap?

please stop typing and start searching. try typing spoiler into google. assClown
