I have been working on a 1994 Astro with fuel pump problems and have noticed a lot of similar posts.
Here is my experience short and to the point.... the Astro would crank over but not start.... fuel pressure text = 0 psi? .... fuel pump ok .... fuel pump relay intermittent problem....replaced. Still won’t start.
Now it gets interesting.
I found thru a local mechanic the Astro has a split positive cable and to check there. When I cleaned and tightened the cables .... presto... "fuel pressure". I stated her up and drove around the block no problem. Parked and let her idle and 2 or 3 minutes later she died again? No fuel pressure, what’s up?
I found a wiring schematic thru ALLDATA and found the other part of the positive battery cable goes to a fusable link block just behind the battery on the firewall. There are four fusable links labeled a, b, c, d, you can’t see the letters unless you take this off and turn it over, but, I can wiggle the one labeled “c” “third from the left” and the van will start. Once running it gets hot to the touch and the engine dies. I took this off and the plug was melted.
I have the part ordered, it comes in a harness with all four fuses and the plug. The cost is $34.50. I will have this on Tuesday and will let you know if this is the final fix or just more money invested.
Later.

Well, I've got great news. The fuseable link was the source of the problem. Now I understand this is not going to be a fix for everyone but it is defenantly something to look at and the cost is minimal and the time is only 30 minutes to complete. Good luck eveyone with your Astro.

Just wanted to let you guys/gals I bought used '94 and it developed a engine quiting problem. Traced back to the third terminal from the left.
Some and repaired before me. Had to monkey with the connector to get it to run again. So this might look to be a problem area.
Rudy.

Under the hood on the passenger side you will find two relays. Not sure which is which. But one of them is the fuel pump relay.
