Whats goin on guys, I have a small question for all of you. I will be going to UTI next year for school( Universal Technical Institute) for thos who didnt know. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on going to the campus in Rancho Cucamonga, California - Houston, Texas - or Phoenix, Arizona.

Ive never been to either of those states and do not know what is around to do where those cities are located or or the better place for tuning cars is. Obviously California is big with cars, but I also hear Phoenix is, any insight is greatly appreciated.

Just so you know, Rancho Cucamonga is smack in the middle of Fontana and Irwindale. Homes of California Speedway/Dragway and Irwindale Speedway.

i attend chicago and am very satisfied(take PM classes not AM)

My friend just graduated from UTI - Houston, last October. I talked to him a lot during his time there and he loved it. He said a few of his teachers had some very nice rides. One of them owned several Vipers and various other mint condition muscle cars.

I think they are all nice. They also have a branch of phoenix in Exton,PA as well and Cincinati,Oh.

Ya, hopefully I'll be going to the one in California. I live in the Midwest, so the East Coast was always the vacation spots and thats getting kind of old, I wanna go to the West Coast for a while. However, if they had the Boston branch up and ready I think I would go there.

Yeah I'd love to make to go to cali even phoenix. But I think I'd be miserable without the family members I do like.

I'm biased towards California as well, but I don't know if I could handle Rancho Cucamonga. The track might keep you entertained a little, but besides that, there's not much out there. It's not like RC is in the middle of LA or anything. You've got to drive at least an hour to get to anywhere worth being...

I've only been to Houston a couple times very briefly, but I wasn't too impressed.

So don't rule out Phoenix... I know a few people who went to school around there and had a blast.

Ya, I'm really considering Phoenix honestly. From what I hear the car scene, not just imports or just domestics is huge there as well. I saw pics of RC and it realy didn't seem to have anything there. Coming from chicago I need some sort of decent sized city to exist. The only drawback of Phoenix is all the poisonous shit they got there. Damn rattle snakes, scorpions, black widow spiders. Haha I know that makes me sound like a wuss, but I dont care

ehh theres no rattle snakes, etc etc... well at least in the city you will be fine. and about the heat..... you will get used to it , is not that bad: 120F in the summer!

and I pass by UTI everyday, on my way to work . and for what i seen in the parking lot , that's ricers heaven , but don't get me wrong i am not saying is a bad school, because i know quite a few people that graduated from phx UTI and there are very happy with their tranning.

WyoTech is a better school. :thefinger

Haha, I'm used to everyone having guns tho, Chicago has more than its fair share. Ya, I'm not really worried about rattle snakes or anything, just messing around.

BTW UTI has 2 programs you go through when doing auto called Hot Rod U and Super Street. Hot Rod U. you get a 350 small block and are told to add performance parts to it, then u get an old hot rod chassis and frame to drop it in and then do Dyno runs with it. Super Street, sponsered by who else, is about customizing the car and performance things. Thats what truly interests me is being able to do the performance type work. Hopefully when its all done with I'll be awesome at doing all the perfomance mods and what not, but will be a tech at somewhere like Audi or Porsche.

Go to Rancho if you want to be like the movie Next Friday, Pheonix if you like the temp being 120 degrees, or Houston if you want to get shot. Personally I say Rancho because of the tracks nearby.
