hey there guys, i would like to know what size of tires do you use on ur eclipses, right now i'm using 225/55/17, but i'm trying to go as low as possible in the middle number, the first number , (225/) doesn't really matter, i just want my car be a little lower, so my question is, what's the smallest you have ever seen or used on 17"s

I would suggest you take a look at http://www.dsm.org/www.dsm.org.1998/tools/tiresize.htm before changing tire/rim size. This tool will let you know what sizes you can use without screwing up your speedometer/odometer reading.

He can use really any size... the smaller the side wall the more miles than regular will be put on.
I put 50's instead of 55's on my old car and it dropped the tire height by about 1/4 inch and yeah it added a few extra miles on but my speed wasn't affected very much. I also had a 87' bronco II with oversize rims and tires that changed my mileage by about... 1 actual mile was .6 or .7 on my odometer..
Just watch out for cops and get used to the difference to compensate for it.
FYI 255 is the width of the tire tread... 55 is the % of the 255 which is how tall the sidewall is... and duh of course 17 is rim size... just in case anyone didn't know....
