i am helping my cousin look for a new car and he decided he likes grand ams. I have a firebird so i am familiar with pontiac, but not the newer grand ams. So that brings me to the car we found and i am wondering if it is a good buy: 2002 Grand Am SE with 68,000 miles, red, 4 door, rear spoiler, cruise, sun roof, automatic, keyless entry, AC, PDL, PW, 16 inch chrome wheels, cd+tape player. the dealer is asking $8700 with tax so he would really be paying about $9,287 for it. I hope this is a good buy because after about 3 months i am getting sick of trying to help my cousin find a car, i tell him he is destined to get a ford taurus, but he doesnt agree.

According to edmunds, thats like a thousand dollars over book value (I put in the mileage which is a big deduction for a 02). I would do some more shopping even though its a pain. Just my :2cents: though.

^ ^ I agree with John. That's just a little bit too pricey for what it is. You'd be able to find the same exact car for 1 to 2K less other places.
