88 s10 4x4 Blazer tranny question

Will a transmission out of a 86 Astro Van with a 4.3 work with my Blazer?

The transmission out of the Van has been rebuilt and is for sale ($200).

Will this work?

I also have the 4.3L

call dealer. ask what tranny in each.

The astrovan also has a 700r4 (same as the blazer)

Though I have been told by some that due to my blazer being 4x4, that only a tranny out of another 4x4 blazer would work, and that the 2wd version wouldn't.

I have been told that any 700r4 tranny would work also, so I need to be told that someone that REALLY KNOWS what will work and not just guessing:)
