Suspension Question

I've been reading old threads for ideas cuz I'm thinking about getting a nice suspension set up without buying coilovers (because I cant afford it). So far I'm pretty sure I'm going with the Sportline/AGX setup but is it really necessary to get new strut mounts and strut boots or is it just recommended? Also, (dumb question), if I get the AGX I dont need to get struts right? I'm only asking because AGX is considered a "shock absorber" while the GR2's are considered struts. Just kinda confused really.

Basically, what I'm asking is what do I need for a complete suspension? Springs, Alignment Kit, Shocks, Strut Mount, Strut Boots. Anything else that I'm overlooking?

Possibly for drag much later on, but right now, just upgrading a daily driver that's long over due

well buying all that, you will basically just be shy of a coilover setup anyway...spending wise. Why not just save for a little bit longer and buy some coils. you will be happier in the long run.

With that mod list I'm expecting on spending about $800 (Springs: $225, Alignment Kit: $25, Shocks: $420, Strut Mount: $110, and Strut Boot: $20) . I thought that coilovers run about $1500? What coilovers would you recommend without getting too out of my budget?

After thinking about it I think that I might just go ahead and get the coilover setup instead of the spring n shock setup. I was looking around and I saw some Tein's and Tanabe's for about $1200. Im not gonna be drifting so I dont need top of the line stuff and it should still be alot better than the eibach/kyb setup. I'll just have to ride around a little bumpy for a little bit longer.

SPL > Tanabe & Tein. Even on the street. 1180$ new

Suspension Mods worth doing Reguardless of Plan
1) Tension Rods
2) Subframe Spacers or Inserts

Which one: Tanabe or Tein? The Tein Street? Or the Sustec Type II or whatever that Tanabe has? Their both about the same price range. What's SPL?

I went to that link but it only had HKS coilovers for the $1200 price range. Are those the ones I should get?

My bad. I meant KTS. Are those the SPL brand? The ones that RW240 recommended?

i live in new hampshire and ive ridden around with coil overs in my friends 92 240. they were tein and i dont knw exactly which one, anyway i found them to be to uncomftorable for daily driving. at the moment im running (in my 90 240) kyb gr2's (swapping to agx asap) with eibach pro kit. i didnt replace the boots tho, but im doing that with the agx's. i absoutly love the daily drive riding with this set up.

is it necessary to change out the strut boots? dumb ? but are the strut boots the rubber accordian shape piece that covers the shaft of the strut?

I am also thinking of doing some suspension stuff. I just want to make the car more stable at higher speeds. It gets a little floaty for my taste.
