What goes here???

I am trying to complete a rebuild on a 1994 Chevy Cavalier 2.2L and I am having a hard time finding out what goes here...

Follow the larger silver A/C line out of the canister near the radiator resevoir, up around the the shock tower and then down in front of the engine bay firewall. Follow it until it the firewall just under the rack and pinion, well just below where the fat line goes in there is a black elbow! What goes in to that elbow and where does the other end lead to???

Unfortunately I wasn't the guy that had my hands on it first so I never knew what went there. I was trying to finish up my rebuild when I was filling the radiator and coolant started coming out of the elbow.

Can someone please help me???
Thanks
John

I think you are seeing the condensation drain, nothing goes in there. Should turn downward.

So if coolant is coming out of there as I pour more in I have a bad heater core??

Yep. The heater core has two nipples that also come through the firewall.
