I'm sure most of you have the same feelings about the auto hubs. They
_uck. Mine will not engage. I have cleaned all the gunk from the hubs and need to know what kind of grease I should use to re-pack them? I have a 1993 EB with 160K. I would also like to know if the inner hub should spin in both directions or if it has a one way bearing?
Forget the auto hubs, i just replaced them with Warn manual hubs.

I think it is a common mistake with auto hubs. You do not want to pack these with grease like a wheel bearing. This will cause the hubs to not engage. Try using some Automatic Transmission Fluid.

i broke a set of automatic hubs once because i did not know i had to switch it back into 2wd and then drive backward
so basically i thought i could just switch it and drive forward and it would disengage.
well i broke my auto hubs
so i replaced them
now i drive in reverse after switching out of 4x4 high or low back into 2wd and it works SUPER
