You need a fuse block about a foot from the battery this is in case your amp shorts and doesnt go into protect or you drw to much current on the wire you dont fry the cars electronics. You can also put one inline with the cap but its not needed. I see kids wire amps up with out fuse blocks and they dont think they need it, i also see kids put 2 different size subs on a 2 channel it overheats in about 10 min.

id say a 60 to 70 amp fuse block should suffice. dont go to high though, you dont want the fuse to allow more current than the amp can handle. obviously that would defeat the purpose.

or u can learn what your talking about. There are fuses and fuse holders, an there are fuse distribution blocks. Either way, you dont NEED either of them. Inline fuses like ^ stated are not necessary if you have fuses already on your amp which your amp does so you got nothin to worry about.

in all my life i have never seen a system that didnt have a fuse within 12 inches of the battery. true, your amp fuses are designed to protect it. but it doesn't hurt to be safe. should something happen and your amp fuses short, there is a possibility it could arc and fry the amp. is it likely to happen? NO. but like i said it doesn't hurt to be safe.

guys, a fuse BLOCK is a bank of fuses - often times combined with a distribution block. It goes in as say a 2 guage, is routed to 3 or 4 fuse holders, and comes out as 3 or 4 say 6 or 8 Ga wires to power 3 or 4 amps.
