It feels like you can't sleep....really.

Yeah, then you get over tired and you can't sleep again. You basically end up feeling like death. Why do you ask? Anyone who has used slightly too much amphetamine should be able to tell you.

my senior year high school I slept an hour a night from January to mid-April. See you'd think like you could get a lot done or something, or you'd have more hours in the day. Doesn't work like that. iit's really just a perpetual state of exhaustion. OK, you know when you fall asleep in class and you can still hear whoever talking you just can't really get up. hear your name and lift your head type thing? that's about how I slept, if at all. It gets lonely at 4:40 AM Tuesday mornings!! I can still do it if I need to, but it's not like I just can't go to sleep anymore... like last week when I bought my car, I had to get it running by Monday, so I stayed up all thursday night making arrangements to buy it with the dood and drinking with him and waiting for uhaul to open, etc... drove back and got back ad 5 in the evening, worked on the car all that night, dicked around in the morning and worked most of saturday night until 6:00 AM. I only slept till noon and was at it again. I've ben more tired this week, I took a nap 2 nights ago for 2 hours, which I never do... but it really never hit me, except for one fit of exhaustion just before I left friday afternoon, and all I did was drink a cup of coffee. It's really wierd and I never felt sick, but I always felt just wierd. I can go to sleep in under 5 minutes if I lay down now. I seriously wouldn't recommend it.

It is different for most people but there are classic signs. It sucks no matter who you are. I have severe insomnia and sleep maybe 2-3 hours a week. Mine is caused by stress. I get very cranky or irratable. I also tend to stop eating and stuff. Insomnia also starts depression. Since I have both well I am a cranky SOB.

I know this doesnt exactly count as insomnia but for several months during the summer when I was working overnights stocking I actually wrote down how many hours I slept a week and it averaged 8-10hrs...and I was fine. I think probably since those months I was either stoned or drunk 90% of the time it helped my body rest, who knows.

I think im getting a mild case of insomnia. Went to bed at 1am last night and couldn't fall asleep til 4ish. Same thing the night before, it's been happening on weekdays mostly... Fucking knackered

Crayzayjay - try changing your meal times, and make sure to wake up (and GET up) at exactly the same time every day. Rooting the missus should take that final bit of energy out as well. Should be sorted in about a week.

You might have cracked it. There hasn't been much rooting lately, unfortunately. Not seeing much of her at all in fact...

Make sure you go the growl regularly too. Protein is a key part of a balanced diet.

Let us know how you go.

Insomnia is nothing like you would think. Before I had it last year I thought 'oh insomnia wouldn't be so bad, you have the whole night to do stuff and read and watch movies'. Instead, even during the day, you're so exhausted you don't feel like doing anything at all. It's awful.

Had a swig of whiskey last night just before going to bed. Did the trick :iceslolan

That's exactly what I thought. I was like "oh shit yeh, I can do whatever I want!! Then after it started, (mine was stress related too, among other things) and I couldn't sleep for months, I very very quickly realized the downside. Maybe if you like stayed energized, drank shitloads of coffee or took speed (I did that a few months after I got it and would amazingly highly not recommend it) it might theoretically enable you to do shit, but pretty much it just sucks. It's like being a different kind of sick nonstop
