How do I get the door panels off for a speaker replacement? I dont see any screws at all, and when I try to pop it off, it doesnt really work. Anyone had to take their panels off?

There are several tricks. I had to pull my panels to replace the side mirrors on my '97 Bravada.

1) There are either one or two srews in the trim cover of the interior door open (pull) handle that need to be removed, and pop the trim cover.

2) Remove the trim cover within the armrest - there are two screws under there as well.

3) Go to your local auto parts store and get a trim removal tool. It is just a Z shaped stamped sheetmetal part with two tines to pop the plastic barbs that hold the door trim panels without destroying them.

4) The wiring for the windows/locks controll panel will prevent you from pulling the door trim out very far. Be careful if you try to remove the panel. The control panel is not easily removed and the retainers break easily. The damn joystick type controller for the side mirrors hasen't worked side-to-side since I took my door panel off...

5) The tricky part is putting all of this back together. Be sure to align the manual door lock slider over the metal rod. I had to remove and reinstall the door trim twice before I got it on fully so that the manual lock/unlock slider worked.

Most of all, have patience. I lack that and most often break stuff trying to hurry through the job!

As most posters here say, spend the $17 and get a Haynes Manual at your local auto parts store. I have one Chilton and the rest Haynes - IMHO the Haynes are much better.
