I'm looking to buy a Cold Air Intake soon for my '01 Prelude and I was just wondering if theres a difference in performance between each company. Someone told me Injen is better and AEM is just a ricer company, is this true? All info appreciated...

a friend of mine also said injen is the best CAI but im researching performance of the AEM v2 that thing cost about as much as an injen but might be better, just do some research
people on this forum tend to say that you wont notice a difference between a 20$ ebay intake and a 250$ injen CAI... but i still think its important if your gunna only minor mod your car :)

all i gotta say is you basically get what you pay for. and injen is good, AEM is a little ricey, but see if K&N makes one for your car... that's the one i would get

AEM is not ricey, I don't understand how a brand of products can be "ricey." People do say that there's no difference between a cheap homemade intake and an AEM or Injen CAI. I tend to believe that the research and developement was done for a reason, but that's me. I have an AEM CAI on my 94 vtec prelude, and I don't have any complaints. It fits perfectly, and it's an easy bolt on mod, my friend and I did it in no time. If the AEM is cheaper, definitely buy it (and yes, $171 is a good price). You're not gonna notice better gains from one intake compared to another, they all pretty much do the same thing. Your vtec engine will sound pretty nice with the intake on though.

i have an ingen, and it serves me well, but i really don't think there is a difference between an ingen and a 20 dollar one on ebay, honestly.

My friend has an Injen in his 94 Integra and it works pretty well. So I'd say Injen, but I dont know about AEM.

Ok so ive heard that becuase AEM uses 2.5 inch piping compared to Injen's 3 inch that the air's velocity of the air is faster with an AEM. I personally have and AEM and i love it. Quality, performance, all that good stuff.

I know if you plan on supercharging, go Injen. I made a mistake 2 years ago buying an AEM. Now that I plan to supercharge I'll be getting rid of it and getting an Injen with cold air extension. The supercharger needs the extra half inch of piping to breath.
