96 s10, 2.2 ABS problem

a few days ago the abs lige started to come on an off every so often. Now, when the light comes on abs wont work and its fine with me. But, when the light goes off, abs acts strange. Very easily comes on when breakin and some times the pedal get very hard to press and at the same time i can feel the abs working (actually it sounds a bit too noisy) but it feels like i have no control of the stoping, like its not even breaking. and this at very low speed. can someone please give some light on this.
Ps: i personaly dont care for abs, so is it possible to disable the abs all together, without having a negative or unsafe effect on truck, and how do i disable it?

If you do this, and it acts funny at all pt the fuse back in and get the job done at a brake shop.
