whats a suzuki swift worth, its a 89 with decent body and interior, has a fried automatic tranny with 88K on the engine. was thinking about buying it and dropped the engine and wiring in a 92 metro convertible. guy whats $500 for it, hasn't run in about 4 years but engine still turns over

offer him the 500$ you could make the money back by parting out the rest of the swift when you finish the vert! Geozuki(Alan) has done a couple of those conversions!

I'd be very interested in the rear swaybar :) And the mounts if you can cut them off. But, you'd be better off selling the wiring harness and buying an MK3(92-94) swift wiring harness. Because the MK2 and MK3 harnesses won't plug into each other. If ya need some help with the swap, lemme know :) :smokin:

As a matter of fact, I do! It's almost the complete harness. Minus the ECU and ECU harness. Shouldn't be too hard to find an ECU and ECU harness for an MK3 swift GT. I'll keep my eyes peeled if you want it.

Also, I noticed you're about 90 miles from Seattle. The owner/admin of Teamswift.net (N1tro) Kris lives in Seattle. Tuffcarguy is also from Seattle. He's done a metro gt swap. Could get some pointers from him, or just fix the swift up

don't really want a automatic one, kinda defeats the purpose of having a bigger engine then losing power bolting it to a autometic. whats the difference between the metro tranny and the GTI tranny, bell housing should be same pattern

The swift gt tranny is a LOT beefier than a metro tranny. The differential housing is much thicker, it has a 4.11:1 final drive, and the crown and pinion gears are almost twice as wide, so they don't strip under additional torque. BUT, if you have a metro convertible tranny, use it. It has a 4.39:1 final drive. Much faster acceleration, but you'll be running about 700RPM's higher at 70mph. It'll take the power of a stock GT engine no problem

tranny in convertible doesn't want to downshift into second or first unless im stopped so was gonna swap it out with something else. have to find a tranny i guess

Yuck. Could be bad oil in your tranny. Don't stick a regular metro trans on the swift engine tho, it'll kill the powerband
