the dealership should provide free carfax reports.

I'm asking if anyone has one and could check for me. The dealers are a bunch of dumbasses and didn't even know that you can do checks with VIN's. I need the reoprts for myself and to use to bargain the price.

i significantly doubt that they dont know about carfax reports. they're pulling your leg. use kbb.com & nada.com to get wholesale reports, and call the dealer back up and ask if they can provide you with the carfax reports. you can sign up yourself as a carfax member. its actually really easy.

I think they have a deal where for 30 days and 20 dollars you have unlimited reports. If someone is on that right now they may help you out. It's the problem of the commons, though-- no one wants to give someone else a free ride at their expense. Maybe there's some dsm love here :) Personally, I wouldn't send anything free to a guy with a "ja rule" e-mail account, j/k

I agree with scottsee, the dealer knows. The dealer runs some version of the same damn thing when they buy their used cars.

Yea I know no one wants to pay and then give the service to others for free. But I really want the car and hoping somenoe is generous enough to run this for me. The dealer is such a dumbass it's not even funny, I can't even have him pull a report cuz he doesn't know about looking up history with a VIN. He doesn;t know the previous owner, has no maintenace records, has no idea what has been done to the car etc... This is why it's imperative that I get those reports
