Anyone around here into Velvet Revolver? Their CD has been playing in my car for the last couple months now. I can't get enough of it. Anyone else like them?

I like them. Good to see Weiland in another group, ( although I also liked STP.) I haven't heard much about it but is he out of STP or will he join them again after this album and tour?

STP is finished. They got sick of him I think and broke up. Velvet Revolver is a full fledged band now I believe. I think they're going to start working on another album after this tour is over with. I'm a big Weiland fan as well. I actually saw VR play in D.C. almost a year ago now, and they were amazing.

velvet revolver is the musicians from guns n roses with the singer of stone temple pilots. You seriosly haven't heard them? They have 2 songs on the radio all the time "fall to pieces" and "slither".

Wiland's voice goes great with Slash's guitar, IMO. They'll never be Guns N Roses, but they are still pretty darn good after all these years. it's good to see them back and rubbing it in Axl's face.

Saw a blurb in our morning paper today about Weiland. It says that he's finally kicked the drugs and is now committed more to his family(even more than his music.) It also said that in the past when he was doing drugs he had a hotel room next to Courtney Love, and they used to shoot up together all the time. I guess time will tell if he is serious about the part about being finished with the drugs...too many performers have said that before, only to pick up the habit again.

He's said he kicked drugs a lot, but he always goes back. this time might be different though b/c he's around a group of guys that have been junkies and cleaned themselves up, so they won't let him fall again. At least, i hope so.

they're alright. Slash is a wicked guitarist, i love GNR and STP was the band that got me into alternative in the first place, and Purple was the first CD i ever owned.
however, i CAN'T FUCKING STAND "fall to pieces". every time that song comes on the radio, i want to hurt things. and trust me, it comes on the radio ALOT around here. as good as the local rock station is (102.1 The Edge in Toronto), they're notorious for overplaying popular songs to death.
for instance, we listen to Edge at work, and i counted the one day. the played Ocean Breathes Salty by Modest Mouse 6 times, the new Sum 41 song 7 times, Mr.Brightside by the Killers 3 times, Fall to Pieces 4 times, and All because of you by U2 5 times throughout the day. it's excrutiating.

It's annoying that they overplay the songs, but why don't you like "Fall to Pieces"? When I saw them live, it actually gave me goosebumps when they played it...this was before the album was ever released.

I like 'em, but everyone likes them now and thus, radios overplay them like crazy. What radio stations don't get is that they have tens and thousands of songs they can play, when they play the same one more then two times a day, its ridiculous. Pisses me off, thats for sure. But to stay on topic, I think the band is here to stay. Although I cant read a thing on there website, good song though, www.velvetrevolver.com the first song that plays, what is that?

Exactly why I never listen to music on the radio. Everything gets played out.

Yeah, that website is virtually impossible to read. I'd never been there before. I can't remember the name of the song that plays, but it might be Sucker Train Blues. I'll check later on.
