Well where should I start...
My fiance has a 2000 Golf, this past summer, the A/C wasn't blowing out cold air. Well we brought it to a Garage and they said the freeon is full. A little while after that, when you push the A/C button off(out), the Brake light would come on.
Listen to this. When you put the defrost on, the brake light comes on and beeps and the re-circulate button goes out. In the other positions, it works.
Also, with the keyless entry, the passenger door will lock and the horn beeps, but the driver door won't lock, you have to manually do it outside.
Can anyone help us with this..
Thanks!!!!

The first two problems are the same thing, when you turn on defrost it engages the A/C. This is the dash brake light, correct? The A/C compressor never clicks on, correct?
When you hit the interior door lock switches does the door lock?

Yes you are correct. The compressor will not turn on at all and it is the Brake Light on the dash.
Also, when you try to lock the doors from the inside, the passenger door will lock but the driver door will not. It is also the same thing when the car is in drive and the doors lock. The passenger door will lock and the driver door will not.

Sine that light is a LED it cannot be coming on because of backfeedng current through the circuit. Therefore it has to be caused by an error within the instrument cluster electronic module (not uncommon) or a short between the A/C controls & one of the switch ground feeds that cause the light to come on, like the park brake switch or the low brake fluid switch. Either way you're probably going to have to take it to a VW specialist for some difficult troubleshooting. If the door wont lock from either switch also then it's a problem with the lock actuator motor or the door/window module.

Thanks for the info.
Do you think changing the A/C Controller out would solve the problem? I can tell you that once in a while when you turn the lights on, the A/C Controller will not light up, the dials or anything. If you hit it, they will come on..
Any input on this??

With your lock problem, if the microswitch is sensing that the door is open the door will not lock. The microswitch is a common problem for malfunctioning especially if people spray lube in the latch and short out the sensor (unneeded they never sieze up like american cars) Easy way to tell is if your door light comes on when you open the door and turns off when you close it then the switch sould be functioning correctly. IF the light does not come on when you open the door then the switch is bad. Unfortunately you have to replace the whole latch.
The ac climate controls is an actual control module. And it controls when the ac compressor comes on/off. There IS a light bulb in the center switch that burns out and sometimes the contacts dont contact the bulb very well and you have to bend the tabs on the socket side with a very very small screwdriver.

Well, it's possible but an expensive guess. There's alot of possibilities. I suspect a bad ground or bad connetion somewhere in the system.
