Engine Question

Alright so Im bout to leave for boot camp in about 5 days and afterwards on my way to Pensacola Flordia for A school my rate will be Aviation Support which is working on gas powered engines on the airfield so a couple questions before I left. Compression ratios what do they mean I know a stock engine runs about 10:1 -11:1 and a good turbo setup would run about 8:1. Would exactly does the ratio stand for. My last question is what does Bore Stroke have to do with Compression Ratio? Thanx for any kind of help...

Well I was going to write out a big long explination, but when I was looking for the formula to share I found this website that explains it very well.

Hey that tall lanky goofy guy who is always drunk and is always running around chasing women sounds like me...Lol I think it depends what Kind of communications it is which will determine your MOS.
