4 WD question

I have a 2005 Santa fe with 4 wd. Is the 4 wd in all the time or does it go into 4 wd when the other wheels start spinning ? It seems awful smooth to be in 4 wd all the time. It rides great.....I think it's the best vehicle I ever bought. If anyone knows.......please let me know. John or [email protected]

Is it a 2.7 or the 3.5?
The 2.7 is in 4 wheel drive all the time, and the 3.5 is in 2 wheel drive untill you start to spin.
