It sounds like your clutch has gone out. I really haven't heard of freezing temps to affect a tranny that much. If you can put it in gear easily at 0 rpm then you cant when idling i would bet it on the clutch.

No transmission likes cold weather, manuals are worse. When it's really cold, (less then 15 degrees F) I have a problem with shifting for the first couple of miles, mainly first gear. It's been that way in any manual transmission car I've ever driven. Let it warm up a bit and be gentle with it.

-15 degrees farenheit? Dude, thats COLD. ANY car with a manual is going to seem frozen for the first couple of miles at those temps. The gear oil in your tranny needs to work at high temps without breaking down, so it's like glue when it's that cold outside. As I said, be gentle on it, don't force it into gear ( not good for the synchros). Once the car warms up, it'll be fine. If not, you've got other problems.

Try some quality tranny oil instead of the factory dish-water...I used Redline (they recommend ATF, but they also sell blends specifically or MTX)
Makes an improvement in cold weather, and in normal temps, it's real slick and smooth!
