Ok so monday i went in to the dealer to get the ignition recall done. Then I went to get an oil change, something I usually do myself but it was cold and I live at an apartment. Noticed that I had a massive coolant leak coming out of my radiator. Bars leak didnt work. Had to replace the rad. Went to my brothers house got it done.(yea feelin good...tho it took 4ever!) drove it a bunch yesterday (teusday) and this morning at 7 or so I go to start it...nothing... ok look under the hood, oh hey theres my ignition relay melted fermly to my exhaust manifold... dang should have checked to make sure everything was secure my bad. Get a new relay get a new harnes. Cut the old one off. Connect up the new one. (universal with 5 leads so I got the middle one taped up in a nice ball.) Bam blow the ignition fuse...run (litteraly) to champion about a block away baugt every 50 amp fuse they had. Replaced the fuse. Bam blew it again. Long storey short why am I blowing fuses I think I hooked everything up right the connectors are solid...so yea stump like a chump. Any Ideas? Thanks

Bruce

you need to find the short which might take a lot of time. heres the easiest way to find it, conect a test light to the battery and conect the other end of the light to the circuit side of the fuse. the resistance of the light will alow just a little bit of current to trickle through. when you find the short the light will go out.

I figured it out. when I hooked up the new relay this morning i oriented the wiring with the clip. Well what I should have done and didn't know at the time was that it should be oriented with the little picture, ie the front...heh I've been spending all dang day trying to figure it out and my buddy came over took one look at it and said "theres your problem you've got the damn thing wired backwards!" So yea much much much easier than I was thinking... But thanks for the advice amac I was in the process of looking for shorts when he came over.

Thanks again

Bruce
