Random non-start

My car is a 1997 Cutlass Supreme, 3.1l V6, 4 speed auto with about 150,000kms.
Occasionally I'll turn my ignition key and nothing will happen under the hood. The dash lights up as expected and I hear the fuel pump, but solonoid doesn't click and lights do not dim at all. :confused:
If I just leave the car alone for a few hours the car starts fine. :eek:
I do have a remote starter and it does not work at when the ignition key does not work, so I don't believe it's the switch in the steering column, since the remote starter bypasses this switch. This car does use a resistor security system.
Other than the solonoid, are there any other relays involved? Can someone suggest what may be happening?
A wiring diagram for the starter circuit would be great!
