96 Ram1500 Won't turn over

Hey all. My truck is causing me some grief first thing in the morning. I Get in to start it and nothing, maybe a bit of a grrr sound then that it. If I hold the key in the on position for a sec or two then turn off and start again it fires and stays firing all day, no problems. It seems to do it if it is cold out... Any ideas??????
