Puzzled on Bolt

Greetings to all. I have a question. On an older post, I had explained the drama about the upper t-stat housing bolt breaking, not once, but twice. Well, the bolt is out, finally, threads are in surprisingly enough great shape, just the usual crud and goo. So, I call my local dealership to get the upper bolt because my local autoparts place said they did not have it. I found out that the upper bolt is discontinued, the lower bolt is still available, but the upper is not.....figures. Would anyone happen to know the specifics on the bolt? Length, thread, size etc? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

OK IM dum. What a t-stat? Tranny or transfer case or what. Whatever it is I would try and figure out why the bolt keep breaking. Fix that before something else breaks off a lot more costly than a bolt. LUCK

Sorry about that. It is the upper bolt for the thermostat housing. My thermostat had failed so I was replacing it when the head of the top bolt broke off. Then, it broke again at the block.

Before you replace the bolts ,run a tap in the holes to clean threads. Put some anti-cease on them before installing. The anti-freeze has a chemical reaction to the metal on the bolts. Make sure you clean housing and block completely of gasket. DALE
