AEM intake question

Intalled a AEM cold air intake today, which sucked took for ever and i have a question about the hoses on the throttle body. ON the stock intake 2 hoses went to it. One that came from the starting air valve which is the first one (really short) and an other one i dont what it is. The AEM intake only has one hole on it, so i put the one that i dont know what it does, to it(since it is closes to it). WhAt do i do with the other hose just leave it there. There is one more hose, that is the third one comeing down, from the throttle body, it goes to a black thing (intake control solenoid valve i think it is called that) will i took that off to put the intake and i dont know what to do with that hose it is really long. One more thing when i drove it around the block (with no bumper) i was hearing a whing sound coming from the filter of the intake. think that might have any thing to do with the hoses. thanks to any help you can give me.

I've got this hose that goes there to this thing, and i put it on the other thing b/c's there is no thing on the new one. Now this 15th hose i don't know where it goes, cause i don't see a black thing coming off the starter valve doowap. Man, you have got to be a little more clear and tell us what kinda car you have. The intake i going to make a sucking noise, its normal. Read your post again and try to understand it from an outsiders view, we are not standing there looking at you car, so you need to be a little clearer. Not trying to be a dick and i am more than willing to help you, but damn.

i know exactly what youre talking about. i also have an aftermarket intake with only 2 places to input the hoses. one hose goes to right above the camshafts and is larger than the other two. then the other 2 hoses are coming out from the intake manifold, one above the throttle cable and the other about an inch to the right. with the stock intake tube, both hoses would conect but with the aftermarket intake there is only one place to put both hoses. so our delima is, which hose to conect?

one word......FABRICATE. it's not hard, make it work, go to the hardware store and get some sort of spliter. did you think for a minute that the intake was designed for a 1.6 motor and not a 1.5. again, what kinda car do you have? that weezing sound you hear is a butt-load of more air going through the filter (normal). and one more thing, those 'hoses' are actually called 'vacum lines'.

I think what he's talking about is the vaccuum hose and the mass airflow/intake temp sensor. A friend of mine took the AEM intake off of an Accord and had the same problem....all you have to do is somehow "Y" the connection off into two connectors and hook them both into it. I helped him and we used condensate tubing which is made for furnaces, then we used electrical tape and taped all of the connectors in place and covered them all up w/ electrical tape which made them blend in w/ the rest of the wiring in the car (97 Civic) I hope this helps
