Yeah, they are probably totally legit. They are an export company. The only thing is that once your Skyline arrives in the U.S. it will not be legal. You will have to set it up through an R.I. That would be Motorex. But since it looks like Motorex is going out of business(from what I hear) and no one has stepped up to take their spot.....then I guess the answer is....NO. You can not import one at the moment. That is what I would gather at the moment. :smokin: If you read ALL the info on their site then you would see that some of these questions have been asked. I copied this directly off of their web site. :2cents:
Question : Is it legal to import a Japanese car in my country ?
Answer : We don't know the regulations of other countries. Please ask somebody in your own country.

Hey man what do you plan on doing when you have to come back state side and you have to part with your skyline(s) or bring it over? Or do you plan to stay there until the car is 25 years old? And yes Batfa is legit. I have asked them questions and got replies, sometimes with in minutes. And someone has imported a JDM CRX from them before and recieved it. It was a few months late but they got it though. So they are ok and legit.

no, im not really looking much at importing a skyline, but i am leaning more towards a S-14. But I was just curious because my buddy imported an S-13, and he didn't have much trouble getting it here. does anyone know if there is anything you need to do to a silvia to get it legalized? I know it cost a lot to get even a 32 over here. just curious where or what you have to do. thank you for any help you guys can give me.

I was asking Skyline69 about bringing the skyline stateside. A Silvia S-13 and S-14 can be imported easier than an S-15 or Skyline because there is already a substantially similar model sold here. The Silvia S-15 is not on the NHTSA elgibility list. No one legalizes here them and none have been imported permantly. I thought about importing one before. The Skyline can be imported because it was petitioned, crash tested, and proven that it can be modded to comply and be elgible for importing when modded to comply with US safety and emission standards. Just curious but what did your friend have to go through and get legalized when he imported his S-13? Did he have to have alot done because they are already sold here?

im not really sure what he had done to be honest. I'll have to ask him. but do you have to have the interior switched to left hand drive?

sweet, id hate to have to do that, there really wouldn't be much point in importing except for the engine if they did that.

The s13 and the s14 can NOT be imported anymore than an S15 can be. They are NOT on the NHTSA list either. The ONLY way to have any of those cars legally is to register them in the name of a business. Corporate sponsorship is the only way. (legally)

Yes, I do plan on parting with my Skyline when I leave Japan.(but I will be back, and then I'll bring one when A: the price goes down on conversion or B: it is 25 years old). You can't even import one right now. Only MOTOREX can do the conversions :iceslolan , and the rumor is MOTOREX is being sued and is probably gonna go bankrupt(they might have already). :uhoh: All you can hope for is that RBmotoring to pick up in place of MOTOREX. And then be ready to lay down like $20,000 cash......for fees and conversion. Now If you ask me......For a $10-40K car (GTR of course) and then like $20,000 to convert it.............I would buy a 240sx in the states for like $10,000........and then put $20-30k of performance parts on it, that would make you be spending the same amount of money.........then me and you would pull up on the line and I would SMOKE :smokin: the GTR. :naughty: I just don't think it's worth it to import one.......also once you have it, everyone and their grandma is gonna want to steal it. I OWN a skyline and I don't even think it's worth it. :2cents:

You make those smilies purposeful. But someone has to put them to good use. You kill it with the smilies. Thats your trademark. And the skyline isnt nothing to you now because its an everyday car where you live. So its nothing there. Im still surprised the Japanese are crazy about some USDM cars. I thought they preferred their stuff to ours and knew it was better. Whats to like about our stuff.

Yeah you are right. I kinda figured that. But didnt thin they really liked our cars. And Skline69 you forgot the third option. C. there is a law change that allows you to have the car sooner.

No. I wasnt saying there was actually a law change. I was saying there may be one later that will let you get the car sooner. A new law change may come along. Do you think there will be a change to the 25 year law with in the next 12 years?
