Changing Dash lights

Help, on my 2001 Aurora, some dash lights burn out and these are not easy to change! How do you deal with a burnt light on the speedo cluster? Change the whole cluster? They are soldered on. Who designed that?
Also the lights seem to burn in the switches (like the steering wheel controls, odometerr reset, etc) and the dealer says I have to go for the whole switch to change one lightbulb!!!
Does anyone else have this problem? Have you changed bulbs by un-soldering /re-soldering?
Light up my dash!

You do have to change the whole cluster if a light burns out. If you have the shop manual & are excellent when it comes to soldering, you can change the individual bulb. Go to the site noted below. Someone
there did that. There are 2 threads there on "gauge cluster repair."
