96 850 Stereo Problem

Any know why the tape cassette player will not work in the stock stereo system. Tape goes in but all you hear is like the tape is trying to engage and then it pushes it out?

I think the deck is a SC811???? or something like that.

Any ideas?

your best bet would be to go get a new deck. it will cost you more to fix the stock one than to go get like a pioneer.
