2002 or 2003

From my research, I was thinking that a 2003 or newer would be the best thing to buy. Even in this forum most of the issues are with 2000 and 2001's and there was suppose to be a bunch of positive changes in the 2003 model. There seems to be about a $4000 difference between an o2 and 03, which means an 02 is a bargain, but I am wondering if this is so because people know that the 03 is a much better car? Is the 2002 enough of a change from the earlier models to make it less prone to spending time in the garage, of course a 2003 would most likely have more warranty.
What's your thought?
