00GTP vs. 96' VR4

some kid who has a 1996 3000gt vr4 wants to race me..idk if he has any mods yet.

i have a 2000 GTP with 3.4pulley, FWI, DHP 1.0, zzp stage 1 TB, RT downpipe w/ hi-flow cat and u-bend delete, and a dynomax cat back exhaust.

Do you think it will be a close race if hes stock? i know those cars have 320hp but they are really heavy.

Should i race him from a slow roll or a stop(VR4's have AWD)?

VR4 is AWD.......twin turbo too, if I'm not mistaken. Go ahead and run him........just don't bet any money. :icon16:

believe me, i never planned on putting any money on this race...a stock 96' VR4 does around a 13.6 i believe, My car should be around there. He has the advantage though of AWD on the street. hopefully he doesnt have ANY mods and messes up shifting haha

OK well I found out that this kid says that he has a 3000gt SL with a VR4 engine swap...he wouldnt tell me what mods he has untill i told him what kind i had..so i told him i have an intake and exhaust lol

he still didnt tell me what he had though

If he wouldn't tell you upgrades on the car i doubt he might even have the engine, let alone I don't know how he could get a hold of it and swap without a lot of work, could race him and maybe loose, but then could hold over his head that he had to go get the top of the line car from his company to race you and beat you when you raced him with your family sedan. If you were to roll up with a Trans Am with a few mods I bet he would quiver with fear, VR4 or no VR4.

I should be getting his "mod list" today from one of his friends...and i do doubt that he got an VR4 engine swap..AND my car is not a family sedan... its a family coupe lol, I wish i could roll up in a TA that would be nice.

It's more fun to beat them with a grocery getter.
