Two years ago when these cars first came out I was the first in line to buy one. It was a stupid decision, the car was awsome but I got so deep in debt just to have one and then a stupid little mistake and I totalled it. its been 2 years and I am finally out of debt and my income is three times what it was back then. to top it off my 3000GT is getting old, its starting to be a pain keeping up all the maintenance and repairs and I'm still paying for it. I pay 285 a month for this one, I used to pay 360 for the SRT. the point is I can now afford a new car and I wont have the same trouble I did back then. I can drive a new car for less then 100 bucks more a month which is crazy considering my 3000GT is 11 years old. if I'm gonna pay for something it might as well be worth it no? so alot has happened in 2 years and I have been out of the loop sort of ignoring all news about the SRT cause honestly it hurts to hear about it. I went from having a new 14 sec rocket to an 11 yearold mid to high 15s bank-breaKer. so now I was hoping you guys could bring me up to date on what has been developed for the SRT. I know about the MOPAR stage 3 kit which can boots it up to like 355 hp. I've heard alot of 400hp+ cars out there too.
How much power can you push out with stock internals and still maintain a safe/ streetable ride?
has the aftermarket progressed any cause a year ago all you could get was an intake and maybe an intercooler.
I heard 2006 was the last production year for the SRT, are they gonna discontinue the line entirely?
I heard these motors where strong as hell, there was an article not too long ago where the block was taken apart and the techs where really impressed, anyone know where I might be able to read up on it?
I'm sorry I dont have time to look through all the FAQs and find out for myself but I really would appreciate any info or rummors or comments as to the streangth, reliability, problems ect.. that have come about recently. to me the car is still new and still has alot of trials to go through.

on stock internals you can easily maintain 500 whp i have an article in my Sport Compact Car magazine of a guy with a 500 whp srt-4. He wanted to prove for 5grand u can have a 500 whp pocket rocket.

They are going to be canceling production for 2006. But with the new line of dodge compacts and the addition of the "world motor" there are rumars of a possible RWD srt-4 in 2007. In 2005.5 they will realease the long awaited ACR (just a really nice handling package rims and brembos) along with a new color, white. The 2003 vs 2004-2005 only difference is the 04-05 have lsd and larger fuel injectors with a reworked pcm. The 04-05 Srt-4's are rated at 230 horses and 250 ftlbs of torque but it seems to be underrated. People are dynoing stock srt-4s for 225 whp and 245 wheel ftlbs.

I would Def recomend checking out Srtforums.com and looking at a sticky under the srt-4 discussion forum. It is titles "everything you want to know about the Srt-4 and everything u didn't want to know."
If u have any other questions about anything either PM me or E-mail me at [email protected] Gluck with a new srt-4. I love mine so i am sure u will :)

close but not quite right. 500hp is not possiable for long without replacing pistons. everything else can handle well over 600. mr. anderson was the first gentleman with the 500hp, but he ended up breaking a piston! the acr srt4 is running the stock brakes, just different wheels and tires, 5 way adjustable tokikos, 5point harness slots in the seats, and the white color - which is now available for the standard srt4.

all the srts put out the same power, regardless of what the rating was/is. 03s were underrated, the 04's and 05s are acurate. we arnt sure yet, but we think that the next generation of neons are going to be differnt in 06. they (dodge) will be upgrading to the lancer (evo) chassis, including the awd. so if the srt4 line is to continue, it will be an AWD much like the evo (9 - which will be coming out at roughly the same time). for information on the srt check out www.srtforums.com or www.performancesport.net

thanks guys, I spent a few minutes on SRTForums and its really well designed and informative as heck. My only question and I couldnt find the answer on the SRT forums is about availability. How many will be produced this year? when I first bought mine it was a limited number and when I went back to get another the whole city was literally all sold out. how hard would it be to find one by about August or September?

yeah, there are a lot of cocky son-of-a-guns over there, but dont be disheartened. most of us are good guys!

the sarties are no longer limited production, so you can go to any dealership (5star) and they should have them sitting there!

Thanks TEX, I read that and felt really relieved, last thing I want is to be left with all the hope and money ready to buy and have the dealer be sold out.
I'll look you guys up as soon as I can get approved to buy one (round mid June I guess)

till then.
Eddie
