2001 SLE Noise while steering

I've got a 2001 SLE with 35,000 on it and am noticing when I turn the steering wheel, I can feel a it 'clicking' rather than a smooth fluid motion. I can feel it with the car moving or at a standstill.
I checked the fluid, no leaking, good level, no foaming and I can't seem to hear anything at the wheels while someone is turning them.
I'm wondering about the humungous U-Joint that's on the column. Has anyone had any similar issues? That puppy is wrapped in a gigantic boot.
Thanks.

You need part #26098237 Steering column shaft lube kit if you want to repair it yourself or the dealer or your mechanic can do it. I did mine and wasn't too bad. You should be able to print directions for procedure. Try bonnevilleclub.com/forum
