Cleaning Up Engine Bay...Ideas??

Now that everythings ripped apart and I have nothing better to do since the cars not going to be put on the road for another month (hopefully sooner...damn salt), what do you suggest I do to clean things up in the engine bay?

Thats the picture I have from before I got the car. So since then I have a new MAF casing, K&N Intake, and am about to order a new elbow (that ones ripped to hell underneath).
Also I got rid of the red AMP wire in back, relocated the IAT sensor, got rid of the AIR system, and did the TB bypass.

The intake manifold is off right now while I am replacing the gaskets, so what I was thinking was order the Vortech aluminum intake elbow with the natural finish and have that and the intake manifold powdercoated black.

What else? What have you guys done?

Toothbrush and spitshine, young grasshopper.

Did that as soon as I got the car. Im talking more detailed work now that I got it all ripped apart. I guess I was looking for more of what other people have done, stuff like that.

What valve covers should I go with? Kinda tough to find them with the alt bracket notch...

Note : Ive decided to stay as far away from "shiney" (chrome, etc...) as possible, so think brushed alluminum and black when suggesting parts, if any of you do...

I know there's the 'no selling' ordeal or referenceing other sites, so hopefully this is ok with the mods:

Have you check Hawks F-body? There's another one but I can't think of the name right now, but both carry SLP products (hawks even has used pieces) and other aftermaket lines.

There is no spamming of other forums or websites selling your things or site your advertising for but you can list a site that sells performance parts. I list www.summitracing (http://www.summitracing/) , www.jegs.com (http://www.jegs.com/) , www.jcwhitney.com (http://www.jcwhitney.com/) www.car-parts.com (http://www.car-parts.com/) and www.thunderracing.com (http://www.thunderracing.com/) all the time.

i think the other site u may be thinkin of for fbody specifics is thirdgen.org and the used pieces usually say what they r from so they would be sure fit...

in thirdgen.org's auto detailing and appearance board, there's a few tech threads on underhood detailing and polishing.

You should get a 1LE intake elbow if your going to replace the one you have. The 1LE elbow gets rid of the silencer tube and is supposed to have a bigger bore inside. Not really sure if it does or not. I have one on my SS and when I step on the gas I can hear the intake. Sounds like a 4 barrel when opened all the way.

justlearning,

No, I know of that site (and naming it I do believe falls under the spamming rule as I have seen other members from that site with it named in there signature get the warning about it) but it's not a site. I can't think of the name for the life of me but it's a catalog company that starts with a "P" out of Indianapolis, IN and covers all 35 years of models in Nos (new old stock) parts. I'll have to look for my catalog for the name 'cuz now it's driving me nuts.

No worries here. That's why I questioned it myself because I've noticed on a few other makes thread that I use on the site some of the moderators are strict as hell, so I'm just getting the feel for it.
