Pony numbers and dyno charts

Hey, I wanted to just see what people are running # wise for the sr20det. Dyno charts and claims are both cool but no bsing, this is for experimental purposes to see how I compare, I'll post mine once I get my car dynoed, and street legal...

no sr for me... sorry.

i forget who just dynoed....i think they had 368 rwhp. cant remember...they have vids to prove it.

mynismo just put down 36xwhp with an upgraded turbo. GT28. Thread isn't too old.

Stock, expect around 180whp I would say.

i think its a myth. i think the sr is under rated much like the skyline is. my buddy put an sr in his s13, its all stock, save for a fmic, full exhaust, about 2 psi of boost increase, but stock turbo, injectors, etc. and he raced against a suby wrx with a bit more boost, full turbo header and 3" exhaust and intake, and smoked it from a roll, and they are stock 227hp. obviously off the line is a different story(AWD) but when they both had traction, the sr pulled hard. doing some back-of-the-envelope calculations based on weight and power, his sr in stock trim is putting down about 230 rwhp.

a SR with FMIC full exhuast and intake would hardly be considered to be stock. i also doubt his car is running stock boost. when you free up the exhuast and intake to make the turbo more effcient, the boost will automatically go up by a few psi. but it is proven that most stock SR's dyno around 180whp.

The SR is slow as balls on stock boost. But SR>KA-T>Dirt>KA>VG

wth is wrong with my logic? and who in the hell would bother to swap an sr without putting a front mount and full exhaust on it? stock boost for teh sr is 7, and when he was running 7, it was still fast. im talking about stock trim turbo and injectors, internals. all he had was essentially intake and exhaust which i consider stock trim.

it could only really be stock if you got the whole front clip, right? because of the side-mount intercooler, almost everyone does do a FMIC but it isnt "stock"

The skyline is under-rated? Not in my book.

The stock turbo will put out around 260-270whp. A guy named aceinhole did it on a KA. But engines don't change flow ratings on compressors.

The 240 would do better from a roll considering less parasetic drivetrain loss.

hmmm, if your talking about a gts, then ok, but im reffering to teh gtr's, they have two turbos, so if you put just one of those turbos like a t25 on an engine, yeah, the flow would much more limited than having two, as well as the hp, obviously. A gtr will put more than 260-270 down with both stock turbos, no question.

Ive seen a thousand times how an rb26 is rated at 276 hp, for emission reasons overseas, but when dynoed is more like 320.

I was referring to the SR T-25. Considering the stock T-25 flows what? 27lb/min of air in WPH standards? x2 would probably get around 54lb/min. Just from the info in this thread, I would say it is capable of 450whp+ on stock turbos. The GT-R that is.

wouldnt you have better spool on a KA because of the higher compression??

i did 250whp/255tq with stock t25 at 15psi with fmic, intake, exhaust. full boost at 3200rpm.

then i did 369whp/318tq at 20psi with gt2871r .64, 740cc's, z32 maf, hks 264/264 step 1 cams, intake manifold, exhaust, intake, enthalpy tune. full boost at 3800rpm.

Yes, but spool has nothing to do with max flow of the compressor. BAsically saying a given turbo will put out the same amount of power on any engine given it is capable of spooling the turbo. Which most are as long as it isn't a diesel turbo fitted to a geo metro engine.

yeah, sorry bout that. I re-read your post and saw that you were comparing flow of the compressors. i dont know where i thought you were talking about different spools lol

i don't know what hp i have... Front mount, 0.9 bar piping (exaust, test pipe) T28, steel turbo lines, walbro fuel pump, HKS groundwires, intake, iradium plugs,f-con, and suspension and breaks... don't know the hps but i can tell u this:

THAT I NEVER RACED SOMEONE OFF A LINE! all of those races where the equivelence of 2 cars murging on the freeway, i try to pass him so i can go in his lane, then he (the apponent car) keeps on pulling. So i mach and he mach and the till i reach 90mph then i chill and then if i was ahead i win...

ALSO, i don't know the WRX dude or the SRT-4 dude, they could just be moded or stock... (exaust just donzn't prove anything) BUT I know for sure that they punched the car when i tried to pass them...

Alright If I can ever get my scanner to work ill get the Dyno chart up for proof, but im pullin 344 @ 20 PSI, shit mynismo, your car is a fast mo-fo, hopefully after a few mods ill have higher numbers, but till then :eek2:

Hitnrun, you do bring one point to mind though. When you begin pusing some numbers, a larger AR turbine housing is required. Don't expect to pust 500whp through a .48ar turbine housing. When you intend on making that kind of power, obviously a calm, daily driver type car is not on your mind or you are thinking of a viper or a vette with IHE. All the air you put in the engine has to come out. Think of it as trying to breathe in with no restriction and breathe out through a straw. Not fun.

btw i did the modes because i crashed the car like 5 times... the last time i crashed i did the nismo bar... the stock 240 tie rod/tension rod thing is soooo weak... one bump and it snaps or bends.

i had the car for almost 3 years now... i go to school full time and work 20 h a week... i used to work at 711 (56 h/week) but that was befor school got HARD!

anyways, the car looks like shit, (i have the S14 seats in it) no craked dash, but the body is ... uhhh... bend up.. LOL

I was gonna catch him BSing but I didn't re-read the beginning of the post. My bad.

on the dyno when i was running 20psi, it hit 20psi and held all the way to 7.5k. i was running a 11.3:1 a/f ratio (rich!), lean it out to 11.8 and im sure i can hit 380whp on same boost and mods. add in some splitfire coilpacks and open dump and i'll probably be pretty damn close to 400whp.

there have been lots of talks about how much boost these turbos can handle, im guessing around 25psi for the .64 trim and 30psi for the .86 trim.... doesn't matter because my engine wouldn't even handle it :)

the gt2871r .64 is sooo fun to drive.. you dont need a bigger turbo when you are slideways at the top of 1st gear and lose traction in 3rd when mashing the pedal :) all i got left to do is a nasty lsd next year and a nice 180sx kit and paint job and its done.


this turbo is on t25 flange as well :)

the turboxs was holding my boost just fine (for reference). its nice and cheap and sounds great too :) it actually sounds very close to a greddy type r vented into the atmosphere, only a little louder.

I think the type RS is a good choice. If I didn't already have a type S, I'd get it. The type RS is just a type S with a larger valve. Any decend BOV will do though. The main thing you should look for is if you plan on recirculating. I would get a recirculatable one just in case you decide to recirc it.

u can recurc the type RS, i have it at home (not on my car) u can get the adapter and and recurc it.

the stock one sounds really cool but when you are running higher boost, the thing just won't hold it because its made of plastic.
