Sorry I have sifted through three pages of this forum, learned alot but havent received and answers to my questions. My questions are about single stage paint jobs. My friend recently received a single stag job on his truck and it looks NICE!

I want to paint my car with a single stage here are some questions I have. The car is a 1992 Eagle Talon.

Does a single stage paint require a clear coat or is it all in the mixture?

With a single stage will I need hardener, reducer, etc.?

Will I need a flexible primer for my bumpers?

If yes can I use this Flexible primer on the whole car?

Thanks for any help at all.

Single stage is just that...one stage. It use to be used world wide on all makes of cars, but without any UV protection it it fades and oxidizes pretty fast. Most qaulity work is done with 2-stage systems for better matching and longer life span. If you paint now is cured and stable you should be able to just sand and paint it. Soft flexable bumpers do need t o have flexible primer and clear. Single stage other than laquer is hardened, Enamel is junk, urethane is better, 2-stage urethane is best.
