ok bad dash problem

ok ive got a tach hooked up, my regular dash guages and a voltmeter....the voltmeter and tach are both hooked up to the wires that go to the relay....yesterday the fuse blew out and i had no lights in the tach the dash or the voltmeter....i replaced the fuse and they all came back on,....then the dash lights and the voltmeter went out....the voltmeter is on the dimmer and power wires of the switch and so is the dash guages....the tach is only powered by the dimmer switch wires...my car is 94 4 dr...anyone have nay ideas?>

i know wut it is. too much current through that circuit. you added resistances (load devices) to the circuit in a parallel set up. by the laws of physics you lowered the resistance and rasied the amperage. the fuse is the protcetion device for the circuit so you don't fry any/every thing. you're blowing the fuse, and will continue to, until you hook everything up correctly.

its not that becuz i understand that concept fully. the fuse is fine. theres power going into the dimmer but none coming out. i figure its the dimmer since the volt is attached to the dimmer wire and the power wire and there is no current coming away from the switch after it enters..its not being regulated and i have had this set up for over 2 months before this has happened....and it idnt just go out i cause it by f'n with stuff while the car was still running...doi~...

then it sounds like you might have fried either the dimmer or the wire out of it. if there is no regulation on the circuit, then yeah you did, and will continue to, fry stuff.

it was the dimmer swithc that fried, i got a new one and it works fine now thnx

change the wires to somethign else instead of frieing another one. theres a clock harness( to hook up the optinal clock in a civic) right above ur hazard switch should have a 12v source
