I thank everyone who responded to my questions. This is for the educated thought of it being an alternator problem. However, the alternator is fairly new.To the advice for the radio, I will give that a try.It seemed to me after talking to owners of the "99-03" Grand Ams that the radio was not just a problem in those models, but it was also reported of the owners of the Grand Prixs.I have another problem to be solved. The rear defroster stopped working.I looked in the owners manual and it shows me a diagrham of the fuse boxes with a list of fuses of their numbers and what their functions are. When I opened the rely fuse box. There wasn't fuse #33 which is suppose to be the fuse for the rear defroster. My question is, is there really one? If there is what number is it and where is it located?

I think there will be a fuse somewhere, when I used to install rear defrosters ( back in the days when it was an option) the kits we used always had a fuse and relay. The defroster draws too much electricity not to be fused. I've seen the power supply wire melt down on a defroster because someone put too large of a fuse in the block and the fuse would not blow. Try to find a Chilton or Haynes manual, my Haynes only goes up to 98, that should help (about $16.00 at Advanced Auto Parts).
