howdy, i was just wondering if this helps out the car that much, i have been debating whether to try it for my 96 3.8 camaro, and i need something to do over spring break even though it doesnt look like it takes to long to install at all, it would still be something to do, well i was just wondering if it was worth the money, thanks in advance

i got a b&m mega shifter in my car its really awesome i like it alot and it only take one afternoon to install probable faster if u know all what your doing if ur bored and u got money to throw around i would say go for it
gives the in side of your car an edge rather then the stock shifter
i got an auto and it was easy i wouldn't know but i would think a manual shifter would be harder but i have no clue thats just my guess

Yeah, I read that they are supposed to be better for the transmission because they make the shifts firmer, plus they add a little bit of performance to your shifts. I am planning on putting one in this summer when I get my car out of storage. I would say that they are definately worth the money, they're pretty cheap only like $40, go for it.

I don't like those and they have been proven to shorten the life of your tranny. They electronically raise the fluid line pressure which wears aways at your tranny and puts way more stress. A shift kit gives the same effect and can extend your tranny's life. I would invest in a transgo or B&M shift kit instead. Just my opinion and what I have heard though.

i think the TransGo's usually run about 120 bucks or so and if you ask around are recommended over the B&M kits.. your car will have a 4L60E transmission.

mine off ebay. The trangos performance shift kit is the better of the 2 as you will soon see it includes more replacement parts and has stiffer replacement springs. If you decide to go with transgo though. Make sure you get the performance shift kit. They have a couple different one's available for the 4l60-e

No problem, check www.summitracing.com (http://www.summitracing.com) , www.jegs.com (http://www.jegs.com) and www.thunderracing.com . They usually have good deals but I got mine off of ebay.

I can absolutely guarantee one thing from B&M. Trickshift. Drain your tranny and put this blue fulid in with a ne filter and you will notice much firmer shifting. It's the only product in a can I've ever noticed working. It's in my '73 Z-28's TH 400.

How much would labor cost on the shift kit installation?
