what size are evo8 injectors? i was told they are 550. i'm currently building a 2g talon and need bigger injectors. i've been told these will work but i haven'y heard any thing about it. i have a evo3 turbo comp cams, 3'' exhaust, afc and so other parts. i'm pretty sure that 550's would be alright.

560cc Evo8 injectors=the cooolest :iceslolan:

Mine have worked beautifully with the Evo16g, running 17 psi on the stock pump with good timing.

MAke sure that stock pump is rewired, or those injectors end up having way more capacity than it. I get ~40 lbs/min for both, rewired. Not a bad match. This assumes 2g, the 1g pump is a toilet.

I have a supra intercooler (got for 2000yen= about $20) on the way and I may bid on a evoI 16g since i got gypped out of the 14b. The evo8 injectors are going for 12,500 yen. Which I think is around $120, is that expensive or cheap?

You can buy them from evolutionm forums for $150. That's where I'm going to get mine.

Yeah you can find them on EvolutionM.net classifieds for right around $150 most of the time.

Kevin, was that 40 lbs./min. calculated at 100% duty cycle? Because damn, on 40 lbs./min. on a stock pump, even rewired, surprises the shit out of me.

To which are you refering, the pump or the injectors? The reference to IDC makes me think injectors, but stock pump makes me think pump :D In any case, the injector value given is wide open, so 100% IDC. The pump is assumed rewired, fuel SG of .76, and AFR of 11:1. I just realized my error though. Its good for 40 lbs at 15 psi, which is going to be pretty much impossible on a 2 liter :) Its good for 27 lbs at 30 psi, so a rough estimation of in between those points is ~34 lbs/min at 22 psi. Its more than enough for a 14b, and close with 16Gs, not enough for an evo perhaps. But then again these are pump gas numbers. Who would be going over 30 poudns/min on pump, or 20 psi? Not many poeple, but be aware that its risky on the stock pump. Let look at race gas. The numbers become 43 lbs and 29 pounds, at 15 and 30 psi, respectively. Not much of a gain I guess. At any rate, I put together that spreadsheet on my site so people can play with these numbers themselves and make educated decisions. Its up to each person to decide how far he wants to push things. For a EVO16g and up I would not run the stock pump based on these numbers. But its damn close, and much better still than people give it credit for. The 1g pump however is a toilet and should get replced much sooner, mathematically it doesnt even support enough airflow to max out a 14b at 25 psi.
