Fuel Pressure Shrader Valve Question

Wife's 97 4.3 4x4 Jimmy,77K miles, went to check the fuel pressure cause she complained that it stalled at a light on her 3 times in the last week. (I still can't get it to stall for me). She says that the idle slows down until until it runs rough then just quits. Her description isn't to much help. I already ran a can of feul treatment through it last week. Plugs got only about 5K miles on them and about a year ago I squirted a can of cleaner juice through the throttle body that fixed a hesitation issue back then. Also, there is a new fuel filter sitting on the self waiting for me to do the replacement (Its been sitting there for a year). Anyhow went to do a quick fuel pressure test today. Using an older fuel pressure test kit I had, I screwed it on the shrader valve to observe 0 pressure with the key on. My pressure guage hose doesn't have the pin that would depress the valve stem on the shrader valve. I have a valve stem removal tool but was unable to unscrew the stem in the shrader valve. The stem does come out, right?? Or do I need to get another fitting for my pressure guage?
Thanks,
Gene

Clean your EGR valve.

I would get the right connection. If it is the CPI system and you mess up the schrader valve it is $100 in parts to repair (Complete nut kit, $83 and plenum gasket, $10). The whole tester is $37 at Autozone. I am going through the complete CPI teardown and just bought these parts.
BUT I agree if you are not having any other issues check the EGR. I have replaced 1 in 130K due to failure. But it may be a 92 issue since it was eventually paid for by GM in a recall.
