Apparently my car is leaking some oil. I was told that a leaky oil pan gasket is a common problem. Is this correct? If so how hard is it to replace myself? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Well first thing to do is to pinpoint were its leaking from and the oil pan is a commen point to leak from although its not unheard of , normally it leaks from the rear main seal and do to clearance issue's its definetly not a easy job.

...hello, i had a leaking problem not too long ago it was transmission fluid that was leaking. First i thought it was oil but i got it checked out and it wasnt. it was the gasket that was leaking , i didnt do it because of how much it was leaking and it was a total mess underneath the car. So i brought it to a transmission place where they put a new gasket and cleaned it all up and filled it up with new fluid cost me $50 not that much. maybe an idea for you . b/c they only took like 20 minutes to do. ..jus suggesting some things to you maybe they helped

I was wondering if anyone knew of any LT1/LS1 performance shops in the Massachusetts/New england area? I want someone working on it that has experience with these cars. A dealer is not really a feasable option because of price. :smokin:
