Rain leaking through weatherstripping

Snow is over and rain is the new thing. I'm driving down the road and water starts leaking in my driver side door. The water isnt comming in via the window but rather the top of the door. What can I do to fix this problem? Someone mentioned silicon stuff... please explain. If I take it to the dealer, how much is it gunna cost?

took me 4 trips to the dealer for the fix to be done right.thay replaced the striping 3 times, still looks like a kid did the job. the last trip took a hole week, thay had to repaint drivers side ware the paint was peeling off due to there first fix. thay used a glue/sealant that was eating the paint off the truck.
the real fix is duct tape on the top of the window when your not driving it.
you mite try there latest and grates trick, two sided tape for weather striping. so far it seems to work.

Chevy recommends silcone on their weatherstripping every month. I know that sounds like a little over kill. I would use the spray or your really going to have a mess. Hope it helps.

That is mots likely what they meant to use , the spray. Silicone spray keeps the rubber from drying out and cracking.

the first stuff thay used on my truck looked like a hard gasket sealer. it was brick hard and black. did a good job of crinkleing the paint and removing the paint.
now i have the clasic air leak with the two sided tape trick. the air leak does not bother me much since i cant drive when the weather is warm with the windows up.
its from years of motorbike and jeep driving. went 5 years of driving with out doors or a roof. first time in a car with a door i had a heck of a time trying to get out. stoped tryed to get out and slamed into the door.
