OK, here's a topic.....I am debating pinstripes on my EBP RSX.....can't decide, and I keep changing them. Currently, one side has a 1/4" and a 1/8" Tomato Red stripe, side by side, along the lower character line on the body side only. I ended it about 4" into the front fender, where the fender bulge begins. (I want to put JDM side markers there some day.....) On the other side, I have 1/8" Tomato Red and 1/8" Metallic Silver stripes, same arrangement as the first side. I used tape and 1/8" is the narrowest I could find.
Now you guys are going to ask for pics (if you're interested at all) and I can't seem to upload more than about 1/10 or 1/100 of the bytes needed. Should they stay or should they go? I ordered some red decals to fill in the black A on the wheel center pieces, and I was thinking about painting the chrome front and rear As red as well.
The winters are long up here in Michigan.......

I think I would like the silver a little better. It seems like it would be a little more subtle than the red. The only thing I would be worried about with the metalic color is that some stupid people get enchanted by bright shiney things and may walk right into your car.
paulkramer
03-09-2005, 02:16 PM
LOL....walk into the car....good one! Yes, the silver is too damn shiny, but that's all they had in that shade. Not many choices, and I don't really want to pay for paint - and have it permanent, although it always looks better with real paint.
I do really like the silver. I tried it with black, but black is invisible on EBP.
Now I see if I put JDM side markers on it, there won't be any room for stripes on the fenders, and there is already a huge jump across the door handles.....hmm......still winter up here

Personally I think silver and another shade of blue would look good.

03-10-2005, 09:34 AM
Hmm....yeah....somebody said yellow and black!! I don't think so......The silver looks good, but pinstripes never look right with only one stripe.....well, it's too damn cold to do anything about it right now!! Plus I won the JDM side markers on ebay - now I gotta drill holes in my fenders - Yikes!! And I will have to shorten the stripes.......they look kinda goofy on a character line that doesn't extend the entire length of the car, so they may just come off. Thanks for your input.

Im not afraid to tear down an engine and build it back up in my garage...but drill holes in the fenders...your a brave brave man lol

Now you got me skeered.......I figure I just need to have a Guinness or two before I get started, have the right tools - i.e. some kind of drill and some kind of sheet metal scissors - and a lot of primer and paint. Just gotta keep the hole as small as necessary.............
Hmm.....how am I going to find the right location?!
Hmm.....how am I going to find the right location?!
sivic02
03-10-2005, 02:30 PM
To find the right location heres what I would do, drink a 6 pack of guinness, 3 shots of jack, and a jagerbomb. Then I would just find a picture of them on a car, approximate where it should be, put a piece of tape about the size of the side marker on one side of the car, stand back make sure it looks ok, then measure from the edges of the fender where it is.
Or you could make a cardboard cut out and go that route.
Dont be nervous about it, if youve been doing pinstripes then im sure you have a good enough eye to be able to do this.

Don't be nervous, he says. Those stripes are tape, my friend!! We're talking cutting sheet metal here, on an exposed surface!! I would look pretty bad driving down the street with big gaping holes in my fenders, side marker lights rattling in the breeze!!
JK - somewhere on clubrsx is a tutorial for the install. Just need some sharp sheet metal snips. With small ends for tight turns. As long as the outer surface of the marker light is much bigger than the hole, I should be able to manage.
:lol2:
BTW, I keep looking at other cars with pinstripes (painted) and they are prob. less than half the width of the stripes I am using. Either need a pro, or somehow find (or cut) narrower stripes.

Yeah, it's been a bit quiet around here. I haven't been able to post latetly. Much too busy doing stuff around the house!
Here's a question for someone to answer. I've been looking at the Hondata2 flash and was wondering if anyone has the H2/H4/KPro installed in their car. I'd like to get some feedback as to how much of a difference it makes and whether it's worth dishing out the extra $$ for the KPro. I've read a few posts on websites, but I'd rather hear from someone in this forum. Also, does the H2/H4 work well with the SRI?
-Thanks!
Edit: How's that for reviving this forum a little?

Also, I've decided we need more beautiful women in this forum. I'm thinking it may serve to rejuvenate. Why are no beautiful women buying RSXs...OR wasting their precious time in internet forums? Don't they know I'm charming AND have an abnormally large.......post count?

I don't need any more freaking women in my life. I have WAY too many already. At work, at my love's house......I have enough man-hating in my life already!! Fuel to the fire, the dumb secretary's "baby daddy" accused her of malfeasance and the court's taking her two kids away. She's 21. So the women here started attacking men, saying that men think it's OK for men to whore around with their kids in the same house, but not for a single mom. Good lord. I am in hiding.
S777, I didn't see the PM. I wanna get out of public health so bad it hurts. It's like 99% female, as you probably know, and not the ones that could work as models if they wanted to - if you know what I mean!!
As far as ABP being a womanly color, I just drove a loaner SSM for a couple of days, and my EBP never looked so good when I got it back today! The SSM looked like a rental car, for some reason.

Hello!? Is anyone here?!
Just wanted to say hello and let all y'all know I got my new tires on last weekend - Falken Ziex ZE 512. $342 OTD from Discount Tire. Had to take them back on Monday after driving the Interstate and noticing they were pretty badly out of balance. This after asking the guy who sold me the tires why owner's manual says to only balance the wheels at an Acura dealer!! Just coincidence, I suppose........
Well, they're balanced now and a big improvement over those worn-out Michelins, though they could use a shave. JK, I can't afford to pull that kind of stuff. My only (semi) complaint is the noisiness from them when I am decelerating! I don't even notice it now after less than a week of driving them. The car is smoother and quieter and is a lot less nervous in the steeering than before. A lot of these improvements would be felt with ANY new tire so I'm gonna just have to trust the fact that I made a good choice with the Falkens.
Which reminds me - has anyone else noticed that the Falken name hardly shows up anywhere lately?! What's up with that? Tirerack has dropped them - the day I purchased them I could no longer find the info about them on their website, and they are no longer in their magazine ads either!! It's got me a little worried.........
I sent a letter to Acura last week complaining about the fact that I wasn't able to get my windshield rattle and 2nd gear grind resolved at my friendly Acura dealer. Haven't heard squat from them yet, hopefully I will. They did send me a follow-up survey after that visit to the dealer, so it at least appears that they are interested in customer satisfaction.
Washed my baby the other day, waxed it for the first time and cried over all the tiny dings all over the front end and the windshield. Spent about two hours last night detailing the interior with Meguiars Dash and Trim goo..........looks really good, albeit a little too shiny. The stuff has UVA and UVB suncreens in it though so that's good.

Thanks!! And I got my TL leather shift knob on! Took some modifying to fit the RSX shift lever, and a shift boot adaptor. I love it. It matches the steering wheel, and it's a little longer than the standard knob so I don't have to drive like a gangsta to reach it! :p
I know what you mean about the wash/wax! I am still detailing - by bits and pieces. Maybe have the Spring cleaning done by the end of the week. Wash, wax, dash and trim goop, Armor All for the exterior rubber and plastic........maybe I will get the touch-up paint out and fill in all the little divots on my front end!! LOL - that would take forever.

Paul, leaf bud scales? I can't wait to get under the hood and detail the bay and clean the filter element...my favorite chore...no, seriously. :grinyes:
mmontO, I know what you mean about the brake dust. Does anyone have any tips on removing it from the inside wheel surface? I've been using the soft brillo-like side of a scrub sponge. Gets most of it, but even scrubbing and wheel bright doesn't loosen it all.
Siv...I rarely...drive steamboats. There's alot of shit you don't know about me...stop trying to act like I'm a steamboat operator. And I would rather have my car covered in plant/tree sperm than most other sperm I can think of- so look on the bright side.
And finally, to Paul again. I think most of those jobs are already taken by migrant workers. Why not try and get an internship for fun and experience. Save your current job for making money.
The End.

Damn illegals.......taking all the good jobs......where's W when you need him?! Trying to save one poor woman's life, while thousands (millions?) are dying around the world daily, that's where.....or establishing democracy in some remote corner of religious extremism - like Lansing!!
Internship.....interesting proposition.....I AM at the home of our land grant/agricultural university.....though it's more renowned for its money-grubbing, spoiled rotten, drunken rioters. I should check it out.
Inside of the wheels? I tried to clean mine when I rotated the tires. I used Orange Blast - that hardly did anything, then Goof Off - which hardly did anything either. I think us northerners are stuck with that crap. Unless you polish the inside of the wheels regularly during the winter, all that road salt is gonna corrode......sort of like what goes on with some of the suspension and structural components, depending on what they are made out of. Probably nothing short of sanding/repainting is going to fix that. Let me know if you learn differently.
I snapped a few quick pics after washing my newly waxed baby yesterday. Have a look at http://photobucket.com/albums/y79/paulkramer/

You jackass!! Heh, heh......I was thinking the same thing......
Thanks guys for the compliments. That's what's great about owning an RSX......they ALL look good (well, unless they've been jacked beyond recognition)!! EBP grows a little more on me all the time. I really wanted FPP, but .........and when I see ABP (edit - "my bad, it's VBP that I really wanted), I think "wow - that's even brighter than mine, more electric!!" Grass always looks greener, I guess.
I snapped those pics at the car wash in Delta Township, next to Lansing, MI.
LOL - "don't get me started about Bush". Yeah, I am going to have a stroke one of these days over him. Oh, and I am a little in fear for my life around these parts with my anti-Bush stickers. I have seen some very ugly and shocked looks in response to those stickers here in this backwater (state capital, btw!). Nobody has made any threats, or vandalized the car......yet........knock on wood.

Oh crap. I just saw the last line in Mason's post......looks like I am in for a beating!! How do you like your Legacy, Mason!? I was thinking about getting one of those - 4wd and all - but I didn't really care for the older ones and the new ones were out of my price range. And 4wd and all (fuel mileage sucks)

Ur all definately gonna get it! good thing nobody lives in Toronto...
The legacy (family car, but I drive it the most) is sooooooooo much fun! the turbo lag is painful up to 3000rpm but then the car absolutely flies! my dads afraid of the car, because its painfully easy to hit like 120km in 3rd gear and the turbo just rockets you back...fuel economy sucks for a 2.5L but its still pretty good, Ill check our average when I get home, 4wd never activates cause we have Toyo Snoprox on the car (familys huge toyo fans)...Price range, we bought the Sales Executives car which had about 15K, its normally about 40k, we got it for $29,000... it was a good deal

Toronto!! And your 4wd never engages?! I guess I made the right choice with the RSX for Michigan. Better looks + better gas mileage = happier guy. Better looks than the WRX that is. I was in the under $15K price range (USD, used cars). Couldn't afford to even dream about a new Legacy.......not yet anyway.
