Immediatly it looks like a switch (http://hometown.aol.com/fordescortse2pt0/switch.jpg) for an underhood light however, I dont have an underhood (http://hometown.aol.com/fordescortse2pt0/underhood.jpg) light/ light socket. Does anyone know what it is? btw no alarm on this car either.

maybe a switch to indicate on ur cluster if the hood is popped or not? I dunno, I don't recall seeing one on my LX. I'll check though.

the car won't start if the hood is popped open and it also stops the fan from working if the hood is popped so it is safer to work on my tempo had it

interesting however my car does start with the hood open but i never noticed the fan spinning while I had it running.
