97 Honda Civic EX SOHC build up.....
Wondering if anyone would tell me how to install my guage pod on my a-pillar....I got the one with holes for two guages, I'm going to run a OIL pressure guage in one and a A/F ratio in the other. First things first, I went to try to pull off the factory trim and no luck, I jerked on it from every angle and all it did was make my car look like it had hydros...hehe....so that's the first thing, and then mounting the pod on the factory trim piece I was intending on using thoes little push in pins (you know the ones that usually hold carpet etc) would that be a good idea, or do you have a better one?.....has anyone ever put in a oil pressure guage?...the one I have is a mechanical autometer guage, I know that the factory sensor is close to the oil filter, do I just take out the factory sensor (don't know if that would be good) or is there another way of putting in this guage?.....Then my A/F ratio guage, I know has to be tied in on the O2 sensor, but where do I splice in?...after the gray connector going back to the ECU?

All your input would be nice.......thanks

I know for a fact that autometer has instructions on where to wire in your signal from O2 sensor on their website.
mechanical gauges are great and accurate, but i dont personally like them because you need to run the line into your car. I like electrical gauges better, you run a wire from the sensor, so not much can go wrong.
For the pod mounting, i have used drywall screws. one on top one on bottom.
Hope this helps

personally, i'd try to keep the holes to a minimum. i drilled a couple wholes for wires, and ran them thru that. to put the pod on the piller i used exterior double sided adhesive tape. i got it from my walgreens. it holds like 5lbs. no problems at all. and less holes.

as for a/f you need power, ground, and ecu. i ran all my wires thru the firewall and under the lip at the top of my engine bay, and in the pass side to the ecu. now i gotta stop being lazy and put a wireloom around it.
