I have a 95 Cutlass Supreme 3.1L. Every once in a while, maybe once every 30-45 days my car will decided not to turn over. It does not click like the starter is trying to engage, however I here the fuel pump run, and the dummy lights come on, radio works headlights are bright. I just keeping turning the key off and on and it will finally trun over and start just fine. Then I will not have the problem again for a month or so. The battery is good. One thing I have not tried is when it will not start, then put my spare key in and try to start it.(eliminating the possibilty of a bad key, my keys have a chip in them.)

I have 95 Cutty as well. It could be your key, do you have keyless entry... sometimes that will not work properly and cause you to have that problem.
I had 94 Chevy Beretta that had keyless entry and would do that maybe 2 or 3 times per month.

I have an aftermarket remote start that also controls the locks, however the remote start and keyless entry have not worked for at least a year.

I had this problem too. In my case it was the key, and I suspect the same in your case. Try your other key. The security chip embedded in the key is a little resistor. As the key gets used, the contacts wear down until eventually they are unable to complete the circuit.

Does your 'security' light blink when trying to start the car? Most likely you have a problem with the VATS system or the hacker that installed the remote start.

Mine is doing this very thing. I replaced the starter, and it worked great for a while, but it is doing the same thing again. Is there a way they can test the key?
