Problem with air conditioner

Well, I have a problem with my air conditioner. It's blowing hot air on the driver's side and semi-cool air on the passenger side. I had it looked at and someone told me it was the control on my panel. Well that isn't it. They said it wasn't the compressor and it's not the blower. Could it be just that it needs freon or a fuse? Any advice would be great.
