guys,
hope you can help me out with this.
my car suddenly started to act funny. my front right wheel stopped moving. only the left wheel was moving. i showed it to the mechanic and he tole me that its a problem with the outer tire rod.
this is what he said.
'the outer tire rod came out of the inner tire rod and that damaged the knucke (which is now bent), and also the lower ball joint and the bearing. he is telling me that i will have to change all of this. the outer tire rod threading has also gone but he could fix that by himself.' the total estimate for that fix is about 750$ according to him', which i think is way too much money to spend.
i was looking at the parts and all over the internet and i found that those parts are not cosing me more than a 150 bucks, i mean all of them.
i would really appreciate your suggestions. i am hoping to get this thing done in like 300 bucks. i am just guessing, may be experts out there can give me a better picture of what kind of expense i would be having for the repair.
thanks for the help in advance.

milind,
If you could do this yourself all you'd need are the parts from a salvage yard at a cost of about $150. However, if you lack the technical expertise perform the repair yourself, you will have to pay someone to do it which ususally costs a lot more.
